Wayne Rooney was sent off as England qualified for the Euro 2012 Finals following a dramatic 2-2 draw against Montenegro,
England looked to be in full control as they coasted into a two-goal lead through Ashley Young and Darren Bent.
However, Elsad Zverotic gave Montenegro hope by pulling a sloppy goal back late in the first half.
With England under pressure, Rooney needlessly kicked out at Miodrag Dzudovic to receive a straight red card that means he will miss at least one game in the Finals.
Andrija Delibasic deserved scoring the injury-time equaliser that sealed Montenegro’s a place in the play-offs.
England may be through but all the headlines will be about Rooney – for the wrong reasons.
