FALCAO FIRES ATLETICO TOWARDS FINAL...
Atletico Madrid are on the verge of their second Europa League final in three seasons after a stunning 4-2 victory over Valencia in the first leg of their semi-final. Radamel Falcao scored twice at the Vicente Calderon and with Miranda and Adrian also finding the net, Atletico were 4-1 up before Ricardo Costa pulled one back in stoppage time to give Valencia some hope in the Mestalla. Falcao now has 10 goals in this season’s competition. In the other semi-final, Sporting Lisbon will take a narrow advantage to the San Mames after a 2-1 home win over Athletic Bilbao. Sporting were the better side at the Jose Alvalade but Bilbao took the lead through Jon Aurtenetxe only for Emiliano Insua and Diego Capel to give the home side a deserved advantage.
