IS IT ALREADY THE END FOR THE NETHERLANDS?...

This is the second defaite in two games for Bert van Marwijk’s players. Led by 2 goals to 0 since the 36^th minute, the Dutch did not give a performance worthy of a vice- world champion team. We were expecting a clash of the titans tonight in Ukraine.

Robin van Persie’s goal in the 72^nd minute seemed to awaken his teammates’ pride, but it was too late. Exhaustion added to the excellent performance of the Germans, they could not come back into the game.

So the Netherlands are last in group B ranking and could be out of Euro if they cannot win their game against Portugal this week end. They were presented as great favourites along with Spain and Germany to win the competition; Arjen Robben’s teammates seem to have lost their performance level from two years ago. But not everything is lost, everything is still mathematically possible.
