MOURINHO SET FOR ENGLAND RETURN ...

josé mourinhoJose Mourinho is preparing to leave Real Madrid and return to England at the end of the season, according to reports.
The Portuguese boss has grown disillusioned with life in La Liga, despite leading the league by seven points ahead of Barcelona and maintaining a perfect record in the Champions League.
Mourinho has reportedly grown frustrated with club politics, in-fighting between players and perceived media harassment - which included the press publishing details of an argument with Spanish players in the squad.
He has always wanted to take charge of Manchester United, although any appointment would depend on Sir Alex Ferguson's thoughts on retirement.
Manchester City could be an alternative, especially if Roberto Mancini fails to win the title this season - while Tottenham and even a return to Chelsea have also been linked as destinations.

REAL MADRID WILL APPEAL RAMOS RED CARD ...

ramos
Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, has revealed that the club will be appealing his red card against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.
The Spain international was sent off for the thirteenth time in his Real Madrid career after picking up a second caution for an aerial challenge on Sergio Busquets.
However, the decision seemed harsh and Ramos was seen sarcastically shaking hands with the officials as he left the field.
The 25-year-old defender took to Twitter to confirm the club would be making an appeal: "I am happy that the club are appealing my second yellow card because even though some don't stop rolling around (on the turf), I didn't touch him (Busquets)".
Barcelona midfielder Busquets has a history of play-acting and this is only the latest controversy to surround the El Clasico rivalry.

psg teamParis St Germain have ended their interest in trying to sign wantaway striker Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.

We will not pay excessively so we stop. It’s over,” he said.
The rebel striker is believed to be holding out for a last-minute transfer to Serie A side AC Milan – after a proposed move to neighbours Inter Milan collapsed in a similar manner.

TEVEZ TOP OF ANCELOTTI’S PSG WISH LIST ...

carlo ancelottiParis St Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti believes the club have a ‘great opportunity’ of providing Carlos Tevez with an escape route from Manchester City.
PSG have become major players in the European football transfer market following heavy Qatari investment, which has subsequently linked them to a number of high-profile players.
Ancelotti insists a new striker is a priority and, after the apparent collapse of deals with AC Milan and Inter, Tevez could now be available.
The Ligue 1 leaders have opened talks with the player’s representatives, knowing they will have to bid more than the £20.7million recently offered by Inter.
Despite the Argentine striker not playing competitively since walking out on City last year, Ancelotti is convinced Tevez would be ready for first team action within ’15 days’...

ROONEY REIGNITES RED CARD ROW WITH MANCINI ...

wayne rooneyManchester United striker has reopened his war of words with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
The Italian coach was seen brandishing an imaginary red card in an attempt to get Maynor Figuero sent off during City’s 1-0 win against Wigan on Monday.
This comes after Mancini had publicly blasted Rooney for his part in seeing Vincent Kompany sent off for a dangerous tackle when the two Manchester clubs met in the FA Cup.
Mancini was later involved in an argument with Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard for again trying to influence the referee following a rash tackle by Glen Johnson.
Rooney used his Twitter account to question: “Was manchini (sic) asking for a red card???”
The City boss responded by telling reporters after the game: “I did it because Wayne Rooney did it”

REMY WILL STAY AT MARSEILLE – AGENT  ...

loic remyLoic Remy is almost certain to stay at Marseille this season, despite interest from Tottenham. The French striker’s agent, Frederic Guerra, said that although the 25-year-old wanted a move to the Premier League, it was unlikely to be until after the European Championships were completed. Despite the fact that Tottenham want Remy to help spearhead their drive to a first title since 1961, Guerra said that they had “only a small chance” of taking him from the Stade Velodrome. Tottenham appear to have been unable to have raised the €22m Marseille’s sporting director, Jose Anigo, would demand and Anigo does not appear to have any interest in taking Tottenham’s Roman Pavyluchenko as a part exchange. The Brazilians striker, Brandao, is likely to be included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Sunday’s encounter at Lille.

GERRARD AND SPURS MAKE IT A BAD NIGHT FOR CITY ...

steven gerrardA penalty from Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool a clear advantage after the first leg of their League Cup semi-final against Manchester City. In order to reach the final, Roberto Mancini’s side will have to win at Anfield, something only Tottenham have done since Kenny Dalglish returned to manage the club a year ago. Manchester City suffered their second successive defeat at the Etihad Stadium when Stefan Savic fouled Daniel Agger after 12 minutes. Mancini’s night was made worse by the sight of Tottenham moving to within three points of City at the top of the Premier League after a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton at White Hart Lane. Goals from Aaron Lennon and Benoit Assou-Ekotto moved the London club level on points with Manchester United.

MESSI CAPS FABULOUS YEAR WITH BALLON D’OR ...

lionel messiLionel Messi was crowned European footballer of the year for the third time, celebrating a year in which the 24-year-old Argentine has dominated the game. Messi’s victory had been expected and he joins Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten in having won the Ballon d’Or three times. His record in 2011 has been astonishing. Messi played 70 matches, scored 59 times and produced 37 assists. What gave him the edge over Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not attend the ceremony in Zurich saying he needed to prepare for Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey tie against Malaga, was what he helped Barcelona to achieve. In 2011, Barcelona won the World Club Championship, the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. Messi also produced the two performances of the season, in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid and the final against Manchester United.

BARCELONA TITLE HOPES TAKE ANOTHER BLOW ...

barcecelonaBarcelona’s hopes of a fourth successive La Liga title suffered another blow when they were held 1-1 by Espanyol. Cesc Fabregas scored Barca’s 100th goal of the season to give the champions at early lead at the Cornella Stadium but, four minutes from time, Alvaro Vasquez equalised to leave Barcelona five points behind Real Madrid. The reign of Villarreal’s new manager, Francesco Molina, got off to a good start when they took a 2-0 lead against Valencia only to see substitute Artiz Arduiz score twice to level the scores at El Madrigal.
Carlo Ancelotti’s opening game as manager of Paris St Germain almost ended in embarrassment as his millionaires needed an injury time winner from Diego Lugano to overcome Locmine, four divisions below them in the Coupe de la France. Toulouse were the day’s big casualties, losing to Ajaccio.

KAKA TO STAY AT MADRID SAYS MOURINHO ...

kakaJose Mourinho has reassured Kaka that he does have a future at Real Madrid and said he expects the Brazilian midfielder to stay for the rest of this season and the next. Kaka has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu since Mourinho’s arrival 18 months ago and there has been widespread speculation that he would be sold in the January transfer window; with Paris St Germain and Tottenham mentioned as possible destinations. However, after meeting the player, Mourinho announced that he wanted him to stay. With La Liga resuming at the weekend, the Real Madrid manager said that winning it was more important to him than the Champions League, a competition Mourinho has won twice.

PLANETFOOTBALL360 NEWS UPDATE!!!

TEVEZ DELAYS ‘WILL COST MANCHESTER CITY £20M’

carlos tevezManchester City made a huge mistake by not letting Carlos Tevez return to Brazil to play with Corinthians, the club’s president said.
Roberto de Andrade argued that City’s unwillingness to allow the striker to join the club in August will have cost it £20m.
Corinthians, where Tevez played before he moved to England, had offered double that but City refused only to see the Argentine destroy his career by refusing to come on as a substitute at Bayern Munich two months later. Tevez’s likeliest destination is Milan, where both clubs will bid around £20m.
A delegation from Internazionale is due to meet City’s representatives in Manchester while AC Milan are preparing their own bid but need Alexandre Pato to complete a move to Paris St Germain before they can fund any transfer.
