Wayne Rooney required admits England manager Roy Hodgson...

wayne rooneyIn response to England’s relatively surprising 1-1 draw to Ukraine, Roy Hodgson has admitted that he needs his best player, Wayne Rooney, for his next two qualifiers against San Marino and Poland. The current England manager, like many of the past ones, has put unreserved faith into the Manchester United player and hopes that the media will not aggravate Rooney’s play which has marred his England career at various times. Under Sven Goran Erikssen, Rooney received a red card in a crunch quarter final match.  For Steve McLaren, life was tough without the striker as he was injured for a lot of England’s qualifying campaign. Then under Capello, Rooney was in terrible form during the World Cup and showed his frustration in ugly fashion.
Hence, it is understandable why Roy Hodgson is keen on keeping Wayne Rooney injury free and happy within his squad.
