Borussia Dortmund have told their teenage sensation, Mario Gotze, that he will have to wait if he wants to realise his ambition of playing for Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old, one of the stars of the Germany side that qualified for Euro 2012 without dropping a point, admitted that he might one day like to join his fellow countrymen, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Nuri Sahin at the Bernabeu.
Gotze is under contract to the German champions until 2014 and their general manager, Michael Zorc, said that if Real Madrid wanted him now, they would start monitoring Cristiano Ronaldo as his replacement. However, the Borussia Dortmund board insisted that they would not rule out the sale of a footballer who has been compared to Lionel Messi. This only increases the possibility of a sale after the European Championship.
