A match which had two strong teams play in glamorous surroundings turned out to be a dull affair as the full time score ended 0-0. Manchester Utd had a chance to take a lead in the first half as they forced a foul from the Catalans in the penalty box. But Rooney didn’t convert the penalty chance and that turned out to his last contribution of the match.
However, with the talent on display, there was no real contest and the contest had to go to penlaties which turned out to be eventful but certainly not impressive. Nani and Young both missed for United which left Pique to score and give Barcelona the friendly win.
