PLANETFOOTBALL360 NEWS UPDATE!!!
ROBBEN TO EXTEND CONTRACT AT MUNICH...
Arjen Robben is close to extending his contract at Bayern Munich. The Dutch star had been unhappy at the club after he was dropped for three successive matches amid media reports his team-mates were unhappy with his attitude. The 28-year-old has, however, made a stunning comeback that culminated in his scoring the winner at Nuremberg that took Bayern to within three points of the Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund. His manager, Jupp Heynckes, said that he now expected Robben to extend a contract due to expire in 2013.
Bayern should have no difficulty in progressing to the Champions League semi-finals. Marseilles arrived in the city after a flight delay of six hours with their manager, Didier Deschamps, admitting their chances of overturning a two-goal first leg deficit were ‘minimal’. Marseilles have lost eight of their last nine games. Bayern have won their last seven.
