MALAGA WASTE CHANCE FOR THIRD PLACE...
Malaga squandered the chance to move into third place in La Liga, losing 2-1 to an injury-time goal at Villarreal. Malaga, owned by a member of the Qatari royal family, took the lead through Santi Cazorla, although they lost their way in the last 10 minutes when keeper, Carlos Kameni was sent off and from the resulting penalty Marcos Senna drew Villarreal level. In the fourth minute of injury time at El Madrigal, Hernan Perez hit home Villarreal’s winner. The defeat left Malaga fourth, two points behind Valencia who thrashed Rayo Vallecano 4-1 on Wednesday. Real Madrid are still on course to win La Liga after a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo gave them a 4-1 win over Atletico in the Madrid derby.
