| AJAX LOOKING FOR REVENGE OVER REAL... |
Ajax will be hoping to turn back the clock when they take on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night in a meeting of two of European football’s most successful clubs.
Between them they have captured the European Cup 13 times, with Real well ahead on nine titles. The Spanish side also have a better record in the clubs’ recent meetings, having won both last season’s Champions League matches without conceding a goal.
But Ajax lead their head-to-head 4-3 overall with one game drawn and will be looking to take advantage of Real coach Jose Mourinho’s touchline ban for the Group D match, Marcelo’s suspension after his red card in the 1-0 win at Dinamo Zagreb two weeks ago and injuries to defenders Pepe and Fabio Coentrao.
