The fairytale seems well and truly over for Levante. Two weeks ago, the division’s smallest and poorest team were top of La Liga but successive defeats have now sent them back down to fourth. They lost their derby to Valencia 2-0 thanks to an own-goal from Javi Venta and a fine strike from Valencia’s Tino Costa. Valencia now move up to third within striking distance of leaders Real Madrid and Barcelona who play on Sunday. The greatest problem facing Seville this season has been their away form and although they are still without a win, they did manage a 0-0 draw at Real Mallorca.
