Shangai Shenhua have turned their attention to signing Didier Drogba after announcing a deal to bring his Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka to the club.Anelka will join the Chinese Super League club in January after having a transfer request accepted by Andres Villas-Boas.
The big spending outfit have confirmed that Anelka, 32, will be earning in the region of £6 million a year – and are hopeful that a similar end-of-career pay-off will tempt the Ivory Coast striker.
Despite being told he would be replaced by Fernando Torres this season, Drogba has forced his way back into the Blues’ first team – but wants more than the one-year extension he has been offered by Chelsea.
The Chinese club also expect to have Bordeaux coach Jean Tigana installed by January.
